Remark:

William Heumann departed from Bremen to S.S.Europa on Thursday, March 11th, 1937 to New York, arriving New York on Thursday, March 18th, 1937.
William traveled First Class, as last address in Germany was Reichsstasse 10 in Chemnitz, this was the address where his brother Carl Heumann (1886-1945) lived, incidentally, this house was hit by an by a bomb from an English bomber on March 5, 1945 and completely destroyed, what you see on Google maps is a new construction of that area, but it gives an indication of where the house was about
His residence in New York was Hotel Commodore 42 str. New York.

6 Carl Heumann (img. 3 up to 5) was born on Sunday 14 March 1886 in Keulen, Germany, son of Leberecht Heumann (see 5) and Selma Schiller. Carl died on Monday 5 March 1945 in Chemnitz, Germany, aged 58.

German banker, diplomat and art collector.
Carl Heumann (1886 - 1945 was Jewish banker (bank Bayer & Heintze) and consul in Chemnitz, by the way Carl considered himself as a German and not a Jewish German , he was simply a German.
As an art collector his interest was in German Romantic art, his collection is still known among experts.
The bulk of this collection had survived the war.
