PeterJan Bos was drafted for military service (WW1)at United States Expeditionary Force on February 23, 1918, went on transport July 10, 1918.
Probably the same ship which he was emigrated to the States in 1912.
Most of the Holland American Liners were re-build as Troop ships, after the war those ships returned to the owner and re-build them in original state as passenger liners.
In a letter, he wrote later to his parents, he had requested for a visit to his family in the Netherlands, unfortunately his request was refused.

Lawrence Bos and his son, Lawrence Jr. (Bob) died in a fishing boat accident on May 31, 1987.
Lawrence Sr. was sitting on a lawn chair in the boat.
When the boat moved, the lawn chair tipped and Lawrence Sr. fell into the water.
A grandson, Brett Little, was in the boat with his grandfather and uncle, Lawrence Jr.
Ronnie and LuAnne Little and son, Bart, were in another boat.
Lawrence Jr. dove in and brought his father to the surface several times, but Lawrence Sr. panicked and knocked himself loose.
LuAnne also dived several times trying to find her dad and brother.
The bodies were found with Lawrence Jr. arms wrapped around his father, Lawrence Sr.

At the age of 21, Lawrence married on Sunday 13 February 1949 Dorothy Jean Carmer (img. 23), aged 16.
